Select Your EZ Lite Cruiser Deluxe Slim SX Model:
Or, Learn What Makes the Deluxe Slim SX Models Unique:
The Deluxe Slim Models are the newest addition to our product line. Why yes, they all look similar, and they look much like our Deluxe Regular and Deluxe Wide models, because they use the overall same frame design. However, we made these Deluxe Slim models to be more narrow, for users who do not require a large seating area, or may need a narrow wheel base for a smaller home, but still want the added features that the Deluxe frame offers.
As noted in the pictures above, the distance between the arm rests on all of our Deluxe Slim models is 17". With that, you have a seating area that is 15.5" wide by 17" long. This more compact seating area, was made specifically for those users whose bodies are not as wide, and do not require the larger seating areas offered by the Deluxe Regular and/or Deluxe Wide Models.
Being that the Slim Models utilize the overall Deluxe frame style, they are made with a taller back support at 17.5" in height. But since we made the horizontal pieces of the frame more narrow, the Deluxe Slim Models have a wheel base at only 23.5", which makes it easier to get around much tighter areas in smaller homes with narrow doorways and hallways.
The smaller wheel base in the Deluxe Slim Models compares to our original design in the Standard Model, which is still the most compact, at about 22.5" of wheel base width, and is still the lightest weight chair, at 44 lbs, that we offer, however the Standard Model does not offer the added comfort that all of the Deluxe Models can offer.
Compared to our Standard Model, all of the Deluxe Models, with the Slim Models included, have more comfortable arm rest pads and foot rest position. The Arm Rest height is also adjustable, for better placement of elbows, and so is the position of the Joystick, for better hand position, closer or farther away from the end of the arm rest.
Additionally, the Deluxe Slim Models can be equipped with a foot rest extender option, which can put the foot rest farther away from the chair. This foot rest extender option, along with the adjustable height arm rest, and adjustable Joystick position, is beneficial to users of all heights, ranging from 5'2" to 6'4" tall.
As with every Deluxe Model, the Slim SX line is available with 3 different Rear Wheel options.
The number in the name simply corresponds to the size of the rear wheel!
You Have The Choice to Select From:
The SX8 with smaller 8" rear wheels, more suitable for mainly indoor usage;
The SX10 with medium 10" rear wheels, which are suitable for both indoor and outdoor usage;
Or The SX12 with large 12" rear wheels, which is more suitable for outdoor usage on rougher terrain.
The smaller rear wheels can handle most any outdoor driving with ease, but are suitable for mostly indoor usage, where surfaces are smooth and flat like hardwood floors or tile. Having larger wheels becomes more advantageous with more prolonged usage outdoors, and there are a couple of main reasons why.
First, the larger the rear wheel, the more wheel material you have. The reason why this is important is if you drive on a lot of rough surfaces in the outdoors, specifically concrete or asphalt, you will wear down the treads on your tire quicker when compared to driving on smooth, flat surfaces indoors.
Second, the larger the rear wheel, the smoother the ride will feel. One of the ways our personal mobility aids are made light weight is by having a fixed axle on the rear drive wheels, which means there is no suspension. When driving over bumpier grounds, the larger rubberized wheels will provide more shock absorption than smaller size wheels.
That is why if you will be using your EZ Lite Cruiser Deluxe Slim SX Model outdoors, consider that the larger wheels will provide more driving distance before they need to be replaced, when compared to the smaller wheels.
Consider the Front Wheel Size When Making Your Selection:
The SX8 is equipped with smaller 6" front wheels;
While the SX10 and SX12 are equipped with larger 7.5" front wheels;
Larger front wheels can also help when going over larger thresholds, such as those found between doorways, and rougher surfaces and outdoor areas, such as streets and sidewalks with the occasional crack, wood chips, or paths with small amounts of pebbles, gravel, and small rocks. That is what makes the SX8 model more suitable for indoor usage, while the SX10 and SX12 are more suitable for the outdoors.
As with all of our models, the Deluxe Slim Models all fold down quickly and easily, will stand up on its rear wheels when folded (using the Kickstands), and will unfold effortlessly.
