Frequently Asked Questions About Financing Through Prosper HealthCare Lending:
1. Will my credit be affected if I submit a request for Financing?
You can view your rate, term, monthly payment and pre-approved loan amount without affecting your credit by selecting the "Standard Credit Program" with Prosper HealthCare Lending. The "Exceptional Credit Program", however, does require a 'hard' credit inquiry and that inquiry will show up on your credit report.
2. Do I need to put up collateral, like a car or home equity to get a loan?
No! All loans through Prosper HealthCare Lending are unsecured, meaning they do not require collateral and are based solely on your credit history and your income.
3. What will my interest rate be?
The annual percentage rate (APR) typically ranges from 7-20%, but can vary with the program you select and is dependent upon your credit history. Higher rates can apply if your credit score is low.
4. Besides the interest rate, are there other fees associated with an application or loan?
There are no prepayment penalties or application fees for any of these loans. There is an origination fee that ranges between 2-5% on the Standard Credit Program (this fee is determined by your credit history and loan amount.) The Exceptional Credit Program has no additional fees.
5. What if I have bad credit? Can I still qualify? Could a friend or family member get a loan for me?
The individual submitting a request must have at least a 640 credit score, in addition to meeting income and other minimum standards for qualification. The program is designed for individuals with a good to excellent credit history. However, anyone can get a loan--not just the patient. A family member or friend could obtain a loan and use it to help you pay for the EZ Lite Cruiser.
6. Can I have a cosigner help me?
The Standard Credit Program is only for individual credit. The Exceptional Credit Program accepts joint borrowers, however, both individuals need to have exceptional credit in order to qualify, so individuals requesting a loan together are typically doing it because they both have sources of income that they need to list in order to qualify.
7. Can I list my spouse's information if I have their permission?
No. The individual submitting the form needs to input their own information as they will be electronically signing the form and authorizing the lender to access their credit report.
8. Can I list the combined income for our household instead of just my own?
No. You can only list your personal income. The lenders will typically ask for verification of your income so it is important that you list it correctly.
